Circadian lighting keeps our stress levels in check, improving our physical health, and keeping our brains purring along effectively. It complements the light provided by the sun wherever we are, helping us live our modern lives, which are often largely indoors.

Specific studies have linked circadian lighting to:
- Sleeping better and being healthier (and it may even help prevent weight gain and diabetes)
- Enhancing cognitive performance
- Feeling more energetic and alert and less stressed
- Being happier
Without installing any new lights, you can make your home better circadian-light wise by ensuring that your house is brightly lit inside during the day (don’t induce eye strain but do make sure the blinds and curtains on your windows are open) and that when you are trying to sleep at night your sleeping area is as dark as possible. Sit and face windows (at an angle) during the day when you can comfortably. Use brighter, cooler bulbs in lighting fixtures you turn on during the day and dimmer, warmer ones in those you use at night.
