Pantone’s Colour for 2022

Pantone has decided that the colour of the year 2022 is Very Peri, a warm periwinkle.  This colour will challenge users in the year ahead:

• It’s pretty energizing to look at, so it’s not the best option for areas where people need to concentrate or focus.
• The darkness of the colour means that if it’s used on ceilings or floors those surfaces will seem a little closer than they actually are.

But . . .

• It is a warmer shade of purple than many so people in front of it will seem a little bit friendly and rooms where it covers surfaces will seem just a little bit warmer than they actually are, which can be a positive or negative, depending.
• People are drawn toward warmer colours, so Very Peri can be a good colour to use on/ behind destination, such as at the end of a long hallway.
