Some differences between people who will visit a space are invisible until they clearly are not so at all—until eyes start to water and noses get red, for example. You love Fluffy your cat and Fido your dog and all the visitors to your home, no doubt, are happy that you have such wonderful pet companions, but some of those guests are allergic to Fluffy and Fido.
What can you do?
If you know or suspect someone might be arriving at your home is allergic to your pets, or a big group is about to find its way to your home and its inevitable that at least someone on that group is allergic, vacuum and dust very thoroughly. If your home is curated to keep clutter in check, as discussed in this article, all that dusting and vacuuming will be much less effort. Also, make sure that if your windows can be opened (they’re not painted shut, for example), and the weather and your heating/air conditioning system might possibly allow those windows to be opened, your windows can actually be opened in case someone is so afflicted by Fluffy or Fido that a massive and immediate air refresh is highly desirable.
