Want to remember what you’ve learned?
The research is very, very clear. When we return to the same place where we originally learned something, or even had a particular idea/inspiration, we’re more likely to remember that material.
If you’ve forgotten how to conjugate Latin verbs or a new advertising slogan that popped into your head two weeks ago (that, of course, you remember as stellar), go back to the same exact spot where you learned to conjugate Latin verbs or had that thought about advertising slogans. Recreate that initial experience as closely as you can, not only visually, but also acoustically and smell-wise.
If you need to remember, you need to recreate the environment in which you originally had the thought you’re trying to pull back to your conscious awareness.
